Run Buddy &
Local Guide

Two ways to be part of what we're building. Whether you want to run with someone new or help shape the routes and content in your area โ€” there's a role for you.

Run Buddy

A Run Buddy is someone who's available to run with others in their area โ€” whether that's a neighbor who wants company on an early morning loop, or a newer runner looking for a safe, familiar face on the trail.

This is especially meaningful for women and solo runners who want to explore new routes but feel safer with someone who knows the area.

โœ“Run with people in your local area
โœ“Set your own availability and pace
โœ“Help others feel safer running alone
โœ“Build real connections in your community

Local Guide

A Local Guide is a runner who knows their area well and wants to help shape how it's represented on Run Ohana. You'd contribute route knowledge, flag inaccurate info, and help us build the most useful running resource in your region.

Think of it as being the person who gives a visiting runner the real answer to "where should I run?" โ€” and making that knowledge permanent.

โœ“Curate and contribute routes in your area
โœ“Add safety context from real local knowledge
โœ“Help us launch new regions accurately
โœ“Shape Run Ohana's content from the ground up

Which role fits you?

A note on safety

When connecting with a new Run Buddy for the first time, meet in a public place โ€” a busy trailhead, a coffee shop, or a park. Let someone you trust know your plan. We take the safety of our community seriously and will never share your contact details without permission.
